TIPS FOR SOLO AUDITIONS
TIP: we are looking for performers who can present a piece confidently, pick up choreography and present with a professional attitude to which we feel confident we can present to our professional panel at The Platform.
These performers will be considered to be represented by the Tasmanian Talent Agency who will seek to contract your skills out to clients throughout the state and interstate.
Prepare for your audition, criteria to meet:
- Prepare up to two 1.5-minute solo pieces to present at the audition (Note: this will be extended to 2 minutes and must be the same piece you will present at The Platform if selected).
- This piece can be dance (in any genre) song or both.
Helpful hints to consider when preparing:
- Ensure your overall presentation i.e. costuming & make-up suits your performance.
- Ensure your performance represents your best skill set i.e. if you are a great singer, don’t forget to show us your full range.
- Solo pieces prepared for other competitions are eligible.
TIPS FOR MASTERCLASSES
Wear appropriate attire (clean well presented and not too baggy).
Please wear appropriate footwear.
It is paramount that you project your best professional attitude and behaviour at all Platform processes and events.
Open to the public, The Platform will provide an experience of entertainment, opportunity and a wonderful celebration of the 20 successful Tasmanian performers who have auditioned for the chance to be showcased on this evening.
Creating an undivided ‘Platform’ for pre-performers to have access to resources and connections for their next steps when embarking on their future career direction.
TDF is strongly focused on bridging the gap from a life time of dancing to the professional performer creating employment and career ‘Next Step’ opportunities to the Dance community within Tasmania.
Once your registration has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email which you need to print out and take to the audition (solo & masterclass) as your entry form.
